Older children attend Walter Johnson High School, which has been ranked 5th among Maryland public schools and has a strong Advanced Placement (AP) program. Georgetown Prep, a private school for boys in grades 9–12, is next door to Tuckerman Station and has been opened for over 220 years.

Great shopping also surrounds the community in North Bethesda. The shops at Montgomery Mall or White Flint Mall are just a short 5–10 minute drive. The Grosvenor Market, “your complete and unique local grocer,” is just down the street. They are a full service grocery store and pride themselves in fresh, local produce and the best cuts of meat around. The have a reputation for top quality and excellent service (their staff will even carry your bags to your car!). There is also a top-rated deli inside where you can stop for a delectable start to your morning, a healthy pick-me-up for lunch, or a hefty party platter for an eventful dinner.

Music Center at Strathmore

Tuckerman Station is conveniently located close to the 495 and 270 freeways, allowing easy access for necessary commutes to Virginia, Washington DC, and to other parts of Maryland. If you want to save gas, the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro stop is just down Tuckerman Lane. From there, you can hop a train that will take you almost anywhere you want to go.
