District Wharf

Grand Opening of the DC Wharf

The new DC Wharf is here. Phase II is coming soon, but the first phase is open for business. And it’s amazing. Well worth the wait. If you never knew the old Wharf, you’re going to love this place. If you knew the old Wharf, you’re going to love this place.

From top chef restaurants, boutique stores, world class condos and hotels, perhaps the best music venue in the country (The Anthem), and massive piers for special events, concerts, and even roasting marshmallows, the new Wharf delivers big time!

So much to talk about with the District Wharf.

Let’s start with The Anthem. The Foo Fighters opened this waterfront music venue up to 5,000 pumped up fans. This was after a dress rehearsal the night before for lots of folks involved in the development of the Wharf. Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl told Billboard Magazine “It has the illusion of a stadium, but the intimacy of a nightclub. It’s perfect.”

The Anthem has seven bars, seven dressing rooms, and might be the coolest concert facility in the country. This place will bring big names.

Getting around The Wharf and beyond…

Beyond driving, you can catch the METRO down to the Wharf (about .5 mile away), ride your bike, or take a Water Taxi.

If you want to tour the Potomac River, you can jump on a boat. If you want to head over to Alexandria or Nationals Stadium or National Harbor, the water taxi will give you a more relaxing option than driving yourself.

Just come down and check it out for yourself. Give yourself at least a half a day. Better yet, plan lunch, fun, dinner, and even a concert.
